Asrar Wani, who hails from Sonwar area of Srinagar, brought laurels to Kashmir at the Dubai Cartdrome Endurance Championship.
He was the captain of the Indian contingent participating in this World Racing Championship and finished third, Earlier around 12 years ago, the Indian contingent participated in this championship.
According to reports, 32 contestants from all over the world participated in this championship held in Dubai on Thursday evening, and out of these, Asrar Wani of the Indian contingent got the third place.
The Dubai Cartdrome Endurance Championship is the most prestigious four-stroke karting event in the world.
Four rounds of this championship are held throughout the year. Talking on the phone from Dubai, “Asrar said that it has been a very exciting experience for him.”
“I am very happy to participate in an international event for the first time, it is a matter of pride for India to do well in third place in the championship,” he told media.
Pertinently, Asrar is also a member of Kashmir’s first offroad club Kashmir.
The club’s founder, Ali Sajid, said he was very happy with Asrar’s performance.
