
Scores of Kashmiris in Britain on Saturday protested against the alleged forced burial of Syed Ali Geelani.
Shouting slogans in favour of Geelani, The protesters gathered outside the Indian consulate in Birmingham and other cities of the United Kingdom on a call given by Kashmiri group Tehreek e Kashmir.
Carrying Geelani’s pictures and shouting the slogans, “We are all Geelanis and we will continue his mission”, the protesters said that the deceased leader was buried forcibly by the Government Forces.
Protest were also held in Nelson and Dewsbury. Kashmiris also held funeral prayers in absentia in Luton, Walsall, Leeds, and other cities in the different countries of Europe.
Syed Ali Shah Geelani died late on Wednesday at the age of 92, following a long illness.
