
The condition of three soldiers and two civilians injured in South Kashmir’s Kulgam gunfight is stable, the Army said on Thursday.
Pertinently, a non-local militant and a cop were killed in Pariwan village of Kulgam in a gunfight that raged between a militant and joint forces on late Wednesday night.
Police have identified the slain militant as Babar Bhai, a resident of Pakistan.
Srinagar based spokesperson said that a cop was killed during the operation based on human intelligence when the trapped militant fired upon the search party and lobbed a grenade. He said that the cop died while 3 soldiers from 34 RR and two civilians were injured, who were airlifted to 92 Base Army Hospital located in Badami Bagh Srinagar for treatment.
The spokesperson said that all the injured are stable. Arms and ammunition, including one AK rifle, one pistol and two grenades were recovered from the slain militant.
Meanwhile, the body of the cop identified as Rohit Kumar Chibb has been handed over to family members at Jakti Nagrota. (KNT)
