Kulgam locals irked as area reels under darkness since yesterday

The locals from the Kulgam township in south Kashmir are living under darkness as electricity has been snapped off in the area.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Locals from Kulgam town said that on Thursday three electric poles were damaged in the town after strong winds after which electricity was snapped in the area.

“Since then, the residents have been waiting for the electricity to restored, however, as of now the department has failed to restored electricity in the township,” they said.

Appealing the officials to restore the electricity immediately, the locals said that they are facing hardships due to the non-availability of electricity in the Town-A division of Kulgam.

Officials said that the Department is working on the restoration. “As massive damage was caused by strong winds on Thursday, it is taking a little time, but we are working on swift basis to ensure the restoration of electricity as soon as possible,” they said.
