Kulgam man dies in road mishap involving security vehicle, FIR registered

A mid-aged man from Kulgam died in a fatal road accident in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir, after which Police filed an F.I.R. against the accused.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the family member said that Fayaz, a resident of Jadipora area in Kulgam was on his scooter registered under the number PB 01 GH-3420, when a vehicle of the government forces collided against the scooter near the Khanabal area of Anantnag district.

The 47-year-old Fayaz Ahmed Seh son of Abdul Rehman was critically wounded following which he rushed to the hospital by the locals. “however, he was declared brought dead upon his arrival at the hospital,” a family member said.

As per the family, the death was a result of “reckless, careless and speeding of the driver”, in a residential area.

Police have also appointed a special officer to investigate the entire matter. As per the Police, the driver remains unknown as of yet, however, an FIR in this regard as been registered  at the concerned Police station.

The FIR, as per sources, has been registered under the sections 337 and 279 of the Indian Penal code vide the number 125 of 2024.

Meanwhile, Kulgam journalists Union have expressed grief over the passing away of  Fayaz Ahmed who was the uncle of Naveed Muzafar a member of Journalist union of Kulgam.

Entire team of the association including its President Ghulam Nabi Khanday expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for their courage to bear this irreparable loss
