Kulgam Policeman Extorted Money from Locals, Arrested

A Jammu Kashmir Police Personnel of Kulgam was arrested today on charges of extorting money from Locals in Kulgam District of South Kashmir.

As per Police three people headed by Armed Policeman, Parvez Bhat, Son of Mohammed Maqbool Bhat, Ponew Kulgam of South Kashmir’s Kulgam was arrested today.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that he has been arrested along with two other people as they used to make people sign cheques and extorted money on Gunpoint from Civilians.

The Policeman has been serving the department for the past twelve years.

 Bilal Ahmed Dar Son of Ghulam Mohuddin Dar of Ganjipora, Kulgam and  Nazir Dar of Yarikha Kulgam has also been detained.

The DSP HQ of South Kashmir’s Kulgam confirmed that the three have been arrested on the charges of extortion.
