The Kulgam township in South Kashmir is observing a shutdown on Thursday against frequent power cuts in this South Kashmir district.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that shops and other business establishments are shut in the area while vehicular movement is very thin.
The call for shutdown has been called by People’s Welfare committee of District Kulgam who also held a protest early morning against the Power Development Department.
A member of the Amalgam while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said, “Kulgam is being discriminated and the department has paid no heed to the constant appeals of the general public to provide proper electricity to public in the area.”
“The Kulgam township from the past few weeks is been provided less electricity and that too with frequent cuts and the same has forced us to come out on the streets,” he said.
