The residents of the new colony Hablishi area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district have expressed resentment against the authorities for failing to provide their regular drinking water supply in their locality for the last week.
Locals said that the area has been without water for the last week while the authorities, despite repeated pleas to restore the water supply, have failed to take any concrete steps in this regard.
We are being deprived of water facilities and despite repeated requests, the concerned department nor the administration is bothered to sort out our hardships,” said a resident.
A senior citizen of the area said the area is facing an acute shortage of drinking water supply and the officials of the concerned Jal Shakti Department are paying a deaf ear to the inconvenience faced by the locals.
On contacting the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), of the Jal Shakti department Qazigund, Mohd Rafiq said that some technical snags hinder the water supply in the area and the department is working on it to restore the water supply as soon as possible he said.
