Landslide Closed Srinagar-Leh Highway near Kangan

The traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway was closed on Sunday after being hit by a landslide triggered by heavy rains at Shah Mohallah Kullan area of Gund in Central Kashmir’s, Ganderbal district.

Talking to media, the official said that the flash floods were caused due to cloudbursts as well as heavy rains near Shah Mohallah Kullan due to which vehicles have been left stranded on both sides, however, no loss of life was reported in the incident.

They said that men and machinery were pressed into service to clear the road. Locals have joined the Government team to clear mud and debris from the road.
