A Local Militant has been killed in a brief encounter between militants and Government forces at Chakoora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police were fired upon by Militants during a cordon and search operation in the area.

The Militant has been identified as Irfan Ahmed Sheikh, a resident of Chakoora in Pulwama.
Active since the last year, Irfan was the district commander of Lashkar e Taiba.
Meanwhile mobile internet services have been snapped in this South Kashmir district.
