Lava is Simmering in Kashmir, It will Take us all Down: Dr. Farooq Abdullah

Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference in an interview with the Quint has warned the Central Government that the silence in Kashmir is not permanent Kashmir and anger is building against the policies of the Central Government in Jammu Kashmir.

In this interview, Farooq Abdullah was quoted by The Quint as having said, “Lava is building. Ek chingari chahiye. Jab phatega, Allah jaane kya hoga hamara (only a spark is needed. When the volcano explodes, God knows what’ll happen to us).” Farooq Abdullah referred the current period of Kashmir to the French revolution.

Denying the possibilities of the Taliban’s entrance to the valley, Farooq Abdullah said that he had warned the Centre and the security agencies that things were amiss in Kargil in 1999.

“It will burst,” and, pointing to himself, added, “those who stand with India will be the first [it will take down],” Farooq was quoted as having said.

Speaking about elections, Farooq Abdullah said, “They’ll do everything to rig the election so that they come to power.”
