The Kashmir university law, Engineering, and IMBA departments of the Kashmir University accused the Kashmir University authorities of not throwing hostels open for them despite paying for it.

The Students said that the classwork has been resumed and despite that hostels have not been allotted to them which is causing difficulties for students who do not reside in Srinagar.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat they said that if the university administration is reluctant to not provide accommodation, they should refund the advance payment to these students so that they can get rented accommodation on the outskirts of campus.

A final-year Law student, Nazir Ahmad (name changed) told The Kashmiriyat that every day students have to travel from far-flung areas, to reach out to the campus. “We do not know what is the take on of Kashmir university over this issue?” Nazir asked.

However when The Kashmiriyat contacted the Provost of University Ajaz Ahmad said that the university is following the covid guidelines protocols, and they have convened a meeting regarding the issue and are trying out to settle down this issue.

“Once the situation turns normal, we will take the final call of reopening of hostels in the campus, ” he added.
