On Wednesday, 2 militants were killed during a gunfight between the militants and the security forces at Sopat Devsar, Kulgam.
The IGP Kashmir announced from the official Twitter handle of Kashmir police that the “Police and Army neutralized LeT district commander (Gulzar Ahmad Reshi) of Kulgam” and another unidentified militant.
The IGP claimed that both were involved in “killings of two poor labourers from Bihar” on October 17 at Wanpoh.
A brief encounter had broken out between the militants and the security forces.

It is pertinent to mention that this was the second encounter of the day.
Earlier, during the day, police had said that two militants were killed in the gunfight that had erupted in Cheerbagh Dragad area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The IGP said that one of the two militants, Adil Ahmad Wani, active since June 2020, killed in the Shopian gunfight was involved in the killing of the carpenter, Sagir Ahmad of U.P. at Litter, Pulwama.
