
Four days after a massive protest in Kuwait’s Irada Square, Scores of Muslim women Wednesday staged a protest outside the Indian embassy in Kuwait against the Hijab ban in Karnataka.
Holding placards and sloganeering against the ban, the female protesters demanded that the ban be rolled back and the harassment of Muslims be stopped immediately in India.
“It is our choice whether to wear Hijab or not. Nobody should be stopped from exercising their right,” a protester said. She demanded that the majority community should respect the beliefs of the minorities.
Muslim students have been denied entry into various educational institutes in India. Many female students were also forced to take off their hijab before entering educational institutions.
