Several areas of the Kashmir valley have reported power cuts at the Sehri time during the ongoing month of Ramadhan, triggering anger among the residents.
Residents of several areas told The Kashmiriyat that their areas are facing power cuts at the time of Sehri after which they had to resort eating food under candle light.
The areas include Pudsoo in Shopian, Boniyar, Awantipora, Pattan, Kupwara town including other areas.
The residents have condemned the absence of electricity during the Sehri and said، “It is highly unfortunate that electricity disappears during the Iftar and Sehri timings despite the fact that the department charges hefty sums of money from consumers in the name of providing 24*7 electricity supply,” a resident Suhail Ahmed, from Shopian told The Kashmiriyat.
Locals appealed the higher ups for their immediate intervention and said that the issues should be addressed at the earliest.
