The Locals of Kokernag have asked the Municipal Committee of Kokernag to launch a drive against Bhang Cultivation in the area and said that the locals will support the initiative.
In a conversation with The Kashmiriyat, a local from Kokernag have said “Cultivating, growing, supplying & consuming Charas is an offence & condemnable under law.”
They said that that is the duty & responsibility of government agencies to check its growth & supply but Municipal Committee Kokernag is negligent where Charas is vigorously growing on road sides of Srinagar-Kishtiwar National Highway near famous market of health resort Kokernag.
A Local also said, “The Police runs stories and photographs on social media every now and then, but here the cultivation of Bhang has went unnoticed.”
