Locals here in the Arhama area of Ganderbal district Friday have confiscated Illicit timber and caught three forest department employees including a forester and handed over to police.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that forest department forester Riyaz Ahmed along with two Casual labourers were escaping after stealing illicit timber from the forest range in Arhama.
They added that they took illicit timber in the Alto car bearing registration no. JK16A /6021 and were on the way to sell the timber at another place while the local spotted the car loaded with illicit timber.
The Locals immediately caught hold of the three and informed the Ganderbal Police.
As soon as Police Received information they immediately reached the spot and arrested all the forest employees along with Illicit Timber.
The Police also confiscated the alto Car into their custody.
An official of Jammu Kashmir Police told The Kashmiriyat that an FIR has been lodged in Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.
