The Residents of Baswatoo area in Kulgam district’s Damhal Hanjipora expressed anguish over the loosely hanging electric wires in the area stating that it posed a great threat to the local residents.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the locals said that despite several appeals the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to address the issue for a long time.

“The electric transformer is at the ground level and the wires are loosely hanging against the trees instead of electric poles, which poses a great threat to the locals of the area,” a local resident said.

He said that they have appealed to the concerned department for relocation of the transformer and erection of electric poles in the area.

Meanwhile, the residents appealed Deputy Commissioner Kulgam to intervene and address the issue immediately.
