
Two individuals from Maharashtra were apprehended on Tuesday by the police for their involvement in online fraud, amounting to approximately Rs 6.7 lakh, against residents of Kathua district in Jammu Kashmir, media reports said.
According to a police spokesperson, the suspects, Parsanna Iyer and Dipin Sarkar from Thane district, were arrested following an investigation into a complaint lodged at the Billawar Police Station in Kathua against two unidentified persons for their participation in online fraud.
The police team, led by Billawar Station House Officer Inspector Jatinder Singh, recovered a laptop and seven mobile phones from the possession of the accused.
