The weatherman has issued an orange warning for Jammu Kashmir for the 7th and 8th January predicting wet weather in the regions.
The weatherman said that the plains and the upper regions of Jammu Kashmir will receive scattered rains and snowfall on the 7th and 8th.
“The intensity of the snowfall/ rainfall will increase by today (friday) evening and the highest activity would be on 8th January,” the officials at MeT said.
It is currently snowing in several areas including Pahalgam and Gulmarg.
The MeT department said that there will be a gradual improvement in the weather conditions from the 9th Morning onwards in Jammu Kashmir.
The MeT has issued an orange warning stating that the weather may affect surface & Air Transportation on the 8th and may cause Avalanche/Landslide in vulnerable spots.
The MeT asked people to not venture out in the Avalanche Prone areas and follow traffic advisories and also, maintain proper ventilation inside the rooms.
