Man allegedly poisons grandson in south Kashmir

A man allegedly gave poison to his two year old grandson in the Mir Bazar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Family of the victim said that on Saturday afternoon, a man Ghulam Hassan Bhat aged 65, a resident of Khrewan in Lassipora Kulgam, gave poison to his grandson in the form of an injection in the south Kashmir area.

“When the family members saw him lying unconscious, we rushed him to the hsopital in Anantnag from where he has been referred to Srinagar for treatment,” the family members told The Kashmiriyat.

They said that a dispute was going on between the father and the son’s family for a long time due to various issues.

Meanwhile, a Police official posted in the area said that Police have lodged an F.I.R. in this regard and started further investigation.

An FIR vide the number 130/ 2023 has been registered at Police Station Mir Bazar under the section 307 of the Indian Penal code.
