A man from Kulgam passed away during the 8th day of his Itikaaf in a mosque in south Kashmir.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Ghulam Mohammed Itoo son of Mohammed Shaban Itoo who was on Itikaaf at Bonpora mosque in Kulgam fell unconscious after which he was rushed to the hospital.
The 65-year-old breathed his last at the hospital.
Itikaaf, in Islam, involves dedicating a set number of days to reside within a mosque, focusing solely on worship and abstaining from worldly matters.
Etymologically, it denotes adherence and consistency in devotion.
