One woman was murdered after being allegedly assaulted by her uncle in the Aishmuqam area of Anantnag in South Kashmir.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a man assaulted his niece identified as Shameema Bano (34), wife of Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, a resident of Nagbal area in Aishmuqam’s Hapatnad area, resulting in critical injuries to her.
Shameema was shifted to the Seer hospital in Anantnag, however, upon her arrival she was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The uncle has been identified as Gulaam Khan son of Shabaaz khan, a resident of Nagbal Hapatnad, the official said.
He said that the Jammu Kashmir Police have lodged an FIR in this regard and launched investigation into the matter.
