Man critically wounded after being attacked by bear in Shopian

A mid-aged man was critically wounded in a bear attack in the Chek e Ramnagri area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday a man identified as Nazir Ahmed Chohan was passing through an orchard when a wild bear attacked him, resulting in critical injuries to the man.

Upon raising alarm, the locals came and rescued him after which he was rushed to the District hospital Shopian.

Nazir Ahmed Chohan son of Jamaluddin Chohan, a resident of Chek Ramnagri Shopian was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
