A Carpenter slipped to death during the construction of a Minaret of the Masjid in Nowgam area of Verinag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday morning.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Mohammed Ambar Dar, who is a resident of Khudwani area in Kulgam fell down while working at the minaret of a mosque in Nowgam, resulting in his on spot death.
The official said that the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
The Jammu Kashmir Police has launched an investigation into the incident under section 174 CrPC.
