Man injured in Aishmuqam incident succumbs, toll 4

A man who was among the eight injured by a “drunk” man in the Aishmuqam area of Anantnag district on December 23 succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

Eight persons were injured, and three others were killed by Javed Ahmed after he attacked them in the area, after which Javed was arrested by the Police.

The Kashmiriyat spoke to the locals who said Javed was under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.

Eight persons who were injured were taken to the Primary Health Care center in Aishmuqam, from where two were referred to Srinagar for treatment, officials said.

They said that on Saturday morning, a man identified as Mohammed Sultan son of Mohammed Yousuf Saka succumbed to his injuries taking the toll to four.

Pertinently, the four persons killed during the attack include the mother of accused Javed Ahmed.
