A 38-year-old woman was allegedly raped and later killed by a man in Samba district of Jammu Kashmir.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a man named Puran Chand alias Bitu (32) from Bishna area of Jammu, was arrested for raping allegedly raping a non local woman, a resident of Bihar.
The woman from Bihar lived in a rented house with her husband at Dollian area of Samba was found dead under suspicious circumstances near Raghunath temple in Bari Brahmana area of Samba on Monday. the official said.
During the course of investigation after the woman’s body was found, it was revealed that the Puran was compelling the woman to have an illicit relationship with him.
He said, “The accused raped the woman before he hit her at the Telli Basti which led to her death, and later he dumped the woman’s body in the nearby area and fled.”
