Man shot at in Poonch village, under treatment in GMC Rajouri

A man from Gursai village of Poonch’s Mendhar sub division sustained gunshot injuries after he was shot at by one of his relatives in Sangla village of Surankote in Poonch, officials said Friday.

“The injured has been identified as Mohammad Muzamil Shah son of Nazik Shah resident of Gursai Mendhar,” an official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Police said that both the accused and victim are relatives. “There is some family dispute between families of both during which accused Mohsin Shah son of Mohammad Muzaffar resident of Sangla shot at the victim with his bore rifle,” it said. “The victim was shot at in his abdomen region after which he was evacuated to SDH Surankote from where he was referred to GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri.”

It added that he is presently undergoing treatment in GMC Rajouri.

Police said that cognizance of the matter has been taken in local police station with a case has been registered under relevant of sections of law and manhunt to arrest the accused is going on who is absconding as of now—(KNO)
