A man has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in the outskirts of the Anantnag town causing injuries to him.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that militants on Monday night shot at one resident of Udhampur in the Ashajipora area of Anantnag town.
The man identified as Deepak Kumar (Deepu) has been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile Government forces have reached to the spot and launched a search operation to nab the attackers.
“Terrorists fired upon one civilian namely Deepu R/O Udhampur working at private circus mela at amusement park near Janglaat Mandi in #Anantnag. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Case registered, #investigation going on,” Police tweeted.
