Intense clashes erupted during a Cordon and Search operation in Tekipora area of Shopian area in South Kashmir on Sunday.
Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Tekipora and Ronipora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.
The forces including 44 RR of Indian Army,CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the area.
Youth in large numbers hit the streets as soon as troops launched a joint operation, Shouting Pro Freedom and Pro Militancy slogans, the youth hit the streets throwing stones on Government Forces.
The troops fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting, locals told The Kashmiriyat.
