Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Kar gam locality of Sirnoo area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in the main town area on Sunday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly.
“The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area,” Sources said.
Hundreds of youth hit the streets when the Anti Militancy operation was launched and threw stones on troops amid intense pro Freedom sloganeering.
The forces fired tear smoke shells and also fired in the air to disperse protesters.
Meanwhile A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area after all the entry and exit points were sealed to the area.
The clashes were going on when this report was filed.
Sirnoo is the native area of Zahoor Ahmed Thokar, the Army man who decamped with a rifle during duty in July last year.
