Flames emerged from a shop in the main market of famous hill resort Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the flames emerged from a hotel in the area named Hotel Glacier and the fire immediately spread to the shops next to the building.
However the locals and the Police reached the spot to douse off the flames along with the vehicles of the fire brigade services.
The operation to bring the flames was going on when this report was filed.
The cause of the fire and the intensity of the damage could not be verified immediately.
