The 29 RR of Indian Army along with Jammu Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force on Thursday morning launched a cordon and search operation in Wanigam area of Baramulla in Kashmir.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that joint forces upon reaching the suspected spot where the Militants were hiding were fired upon by Militants.
During the initial exchange of gunfire, nobody has been injured, the official said, after which no fresh contact has been established.
“We are trying to find the hiding Militants, but so far there has been no contact with them,” the official said.
Meanwhile Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that the Militants, believed to be two to three in number have managed to escape from the spot.
The cordon and search operation in still on this Baramulla area and a huge deployement of troops have blocked the entry and exit points to the area.
The operation is still on, as per the latest reports received by The Kashmiriyat.
