The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has constituted a Marcos team to trace out the boy who drowned in river Jhelum on Tuesday afternoon.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Sahir Rashid Trumboo aged 09, a resident of Monawarabad, Khayam drowned while taking bath in the Jhelum river near Nathpora, Khanbal area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
The other two boys accompanying him tried to help him, but to no avail and soon when it came to the notice of his relatives in nathpora area they tried to look for him, but all in vain.
Soon the Jammu Kashmir Police stepped in to help and since 2:30 pm the Jammu Kashmir Police’s SDRF has been trying to search Sahir inside the river Jhelum, however till now they have achieved no success.
The SDRF now plans to initiate a search operation from Sopore which will be conducted by their special team named Marcos.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the head of the team Tahir Ashraf said that the Jammu Kashmir Police is trying its best to find out Sahir and we will make sure that we find his body.
“We have initiated search operation from Sopore and by night the Marcos team will reach back to Islamabad, in the process, we intend to locate Sahir,” he said.
