Media council Kashmir held an election at Srinagar in which several Kashmir-based Media outlets, Senior Journalists, and Newspaper owners participated and raised their genuine issues and long pending problems of empanelment of Newspapers and accreditation matters.
Media council Kashmir members have decided to elect a strong body to strengthen the Association at the grass root level and voted for the elected body.
After a long discussion and suggestions of all members and senior journalists, Newspaper owners whole body raised one voice and elected body of Media council Kashmir in which Senior Accredited Journalist Beig Shamim Ahmed was elected as President, Mohammed Iqbal Wani Organising Secretary, Arshid Mir General Secretary, Zahid Bhat Vice president, Muzafar Ahmed Khan Spokesperson, Bilal Ahmed Darzi Treasurer, Khalid Qureshi Publicity Secretary, Manzoor Ahmed Baba Secretary, Noor Mohammed as an Executive Member.
The council has congratulated well-known and people-friendly Journalist Beig Shamim Ahmed for being elected as President of the Association and Other elected body members. KNS
