The family of Salman Khursheed Wani in Ramban area of Jammu Kashmir is celebrating today with Salman as he has been released after more than two months of Detention by the uttar Pradesh Anti-terrorism squad.
Salman Khursheed Wani son of Nazir Ahmad Wani resident of Bankot area in Tehsil Banihal of Ramban District was arrested on June 21, 2020 by UPATS with the help of Ramban District Police.
After two months of investigation by the anti-terrorism squad, Salman Khursheed Wani was released without any charges against him, he was given clean chit.
Khursheed was not in condition to speak, however his parent sare feeling escatic to see their son back home.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the parents of Khursheed are very happy but disappointed and deeply saddened over the media trial and baseless negative propaganda against Salman Khurshid by the Indian electronic media.
“Sections of Indian made celebrating the arrest of our son made baseless allegations against our son and accused him of recruiting youth into militant organizations, they almost got our son killed,” his father told The Kashmiriyat.
Nazir Ahmad Wani, the father of Khursheed and his mother Khaleda Begum speaking to The Kashmiriyat thanked ATS Uttar Pradesh, judiciary and state police for the release of their son.
“There should be check on the media, it was sad to that the media without any evidence, investigation, court proceedings and even before the truth came to light, declared Salman a terrorist which is against the principles of journalism and constitution,” his father said.
His parent said that,” He has suffered a lot and his dignity in the society has been severely hit which is difficult to compensate”.
Pertinently the Uttar Pradesh ATS had registered a case against a person named Muhammad Inam-ul-Haq for anti-national conspiracy and militancy activities, whom Salman had earlier come in contact with through social networking sites.
Salman’s parents had told the Uttar Pradesh ATS special team during the arrest that their son was not affiliated with any extremist organization but in fact he had been suffering from mental illness for the last seven years
