By a government order released today, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti’s detention has been extended by three more months. The order states that the extension is “with a view of preventing her from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of Public Order”. She has also been relocated from Subsidiary Road on M.A Road to Subsidiary Jail on Gupkar Road.
She, along with many other political leaders of Kashmir had been arrested and booked under the Public Security Act (PSA) on 5th August, 2020 after the abrogation of Article 370, which revoked J&K’s special status.
