Employees of National Health Mission (NHM) on Monday staged a protest  in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district demanding regularisation of their services.

The employees while holding placards raised slogans against the government for “failing” to fulfill their demands.

According to the protesting employees, the government had promised them social security benefits but till date, there were no initiatives taken by the government in this regard.

“We have been demanding regularization of services and immediate fulfillment of commitment by the then health minister in January 2018.

We have no job security even as we work day and night in different hospitals and health centres across the state,”

The protesters threatened of more protests if their demands are not fulfilled.

Senior PDP Leader and Member of Parliament, Nazir Ahmad Laway has soght the regularization of NHM employees in Jammu Kashmir.

Laway said that it has been more than a decade for most of the NHM employees and it is high time for government to regularize them with immediate effect.

“The families of NHM employees have high hopes on the government and it is their genuine demand which they are seeking for”, he said.

He said that these employees have been rendering services day in and day out since a long time without availing their due benefits.

The government shall now reward them for their services.

Laway urged the governor administration to take the issue seriously and regularize NHM employees at an earliest.
