Militant Killings- Sopore, Kupwara, Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama Shut

The Kupwara District in North Kashmir is shut for the third consecutive day against the Killing of two Militants Zahoor Mir and Bilal Ahmed Shah killed in a gunfight on Thursday.

Educational Institutes are shut in the area, while vehicular movement is very thin amid Government Forces patrolling the streets.

The Pulwama areas are also shut for the second consecutive day after a Local Militant was killed in a gunfight in Sopore’s behrampora in Friday.

Clashes had erupted in the Locality early morning on Friday against the killing of local Militant identified as Khursheed Ahmed Malik, who had gone missing from his home in Nikas area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama.

Internet Services have also been snapped across the Pulwama District.

The Islamabad (Anantnag) district is observing a complete shutdown on the first anniversary of a local Militant, Yawar Nisar.

The call for shutdown had been issued by the Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir.

Yawar was killed in a gunfight in Kanelwan area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad District on 04 August last year.

Shopian areas are also observing a complete shutdown against the killing of five local Militants during an encounter that raged late night on Friday in the Kiloora area of Shopian.

Umer malik of Shopian’s malik gund, the district commander of Lashkar e Taiba was also killed in the gunfight.

Mobile Internet Services have also been shut in the district.
