Militants Killed in Anantnag Encounter Identified

The three Militants Militants killed in the encounter in the Kawarigam village of Achabal hamlet in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have been identified as Locals.

An official confirming the identity of the three slain to The Kashmiriyat said that the trio was affiliated to Lashkar e Taiba and they were all residents of South Kashmir, among the slain is a commander of the outfit.

He identified them as Arif Hajam, a resident of Sadoora area in Anantnag, Basit Ahmed Ganie of Achabal and Suhail Bhat of Karimabad Pulwama.

Suhail 23, went missing from his home in the Karimabad area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Suhail Ahmad Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, his family members had told The Kashmiriyat, went missing on June 8, and since then his whereabouts are unknown despite their efforts to locate him.

The family had lodged a missing report has been lodged with the police station Pulwama.

Achabal’s Basit Ahmed Ganie, on April 23, left his home to get some groceries and never came back. The family members of Basit Rashid Ganie speaking to The Kashmiriyat urged their son to return home and also sought the government to help them in tracing him.

Basit Ganie Son of Abdul Rashid Ganie was a  resident of the Aadsu area in Achabal in Anantnag.

The Family of Basit Ganie has also lodged a missing report of their son in the concerned police station.

As per the official, Arif Hajam was the Lashkar-e-Toiba district commander. He was a resident of Sadoora area in Anantnag.
