Militants Killed in Bijbehara Encounter Identified as Locals

The Militants Killed in the encounter that raged in the Kandipora area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district have been identified.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that the duo was identified as Locals and had recently joined the Militant outfit, Lashkar e Mustafa.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 03 RR of Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu Kashmir Police after reeving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area on Wednesday evening.

While conducting the Search Operation, the holed-up Militants opened fire on the Forces, to which the forces retaliated, during the two Militants were killed. The holed-up Militants were asked to surrender but they refused.

According to the official, one of them has been identified as 23 years old, Adil Ahmed Bhat, who is a resident of Sheetpora, Bijbehara. After passing his class 12th he was driving a load carrier and had joined the militant organization, Lashkar e Mustafa on 03 Nov 2020.

The second Militant, as per the official was 26 years old, Zahid Amin, a resident of Sirhama, Bijbehara. He was a BA 3rd-year student, who had joined the same outfit on 19 Feb 2021.
