Militants Likely Escape in Pulwama Encounter- Two Troopers Injured, Massive Searches On

A Gunfight has raged out between militants and government forces in Marwal area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR, and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Marwal.

During the searches, the Militants opened fire upon the forces, which triggered an encounter, the official said.

An official of Indian Army said that one of the troopers, identified as Mahinder Singh Goyal Of 50 RR, was injured during the exchange of gunfire while another one got injured after he slipped down during the gunfight.

Mahinder Goyal has been shifted to Army’s 92 base hospital for advanced treatment.

As per the sources, two to three militants who were believed to be trapped at the site of the encounter have likely escaped.

However the searches at the site of the encounter are still on.
