Minor boy killed in Baramulla, 14-year-old confesses involvement

A 8-year-old boy from Baandpora Lalpora tragically died after being found unconscious in a field near his home on June 12.

According to the statement issued by Police Media Cell Baramulla, the child was immediately taken by his family to JVC Hospital in Srinagar for treatment, but he could not survive and passed away in the early hours of June 17.

As per Kashmir News Service KNS, The police at Kunzer Police Station took quick action and called a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to examine the scene.

A formal case was registered, and a detailed investigation was launched to understand the cause of the incident.

During the investigation, a 14-year-old boy, whose name has been withheld due to legal reasons, confessed to being involved in the incident that led to the minor’s death.

He has been apprehended under the Juvenile Justice Act and will be presented before the proper legal authority.

Police have also detained two more individuals connected to the accused for questioning. Several angles of the case are being investigated.

The Jammu Kashmir Police have assured the public that the investigation is being carried out professionally, fairly, and according to the law. (KNS)
