
The family and relatives of an eight-year-old girl of Srinagar’s Noorbagh area on Monday staged a protest, seeking her whereabouts, while alleging that she has been kidnapped by their “three-day old” non-local daughter-in-law.
The family members accused their non-local daughter-in-law of kidnapping their eight-year-old girl with her after staying with the family for just three days after her marriage.
My brother married a non-local woman last week and just after three days, the lady left the house and took away my daughter, the girl’s father alleged.
One of the relatives said they carried out the Nikah ceremony on Thursday last week and had arranged a simple function that was attended by close relatives and family members. “Yesterday, we were shocked to know the bride has fled and taken my niece along with her.”
The family members said they have approached the concerned police station and informed the officials about the matter.
Meanwhile, a police official without giving any details about the case that they have registered a kidnapping case into the incident and started further investigations. (KNO)
