Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pattan, Mr. Javid Reyaz Bedar, has strongly advocated for the rights of local farmers whose land has been proposed for use by the Defence forces for a key project.
The land, which includes areas in Buran,Pattan Trikolbal, and other parts of Pattan , has been cultivated and maintained by local farmers for over 90 years.
This land, classified as government land, has been transformed into productive agricultural and horticultural farms solely due to the hard work and dedication of the local farmers,” said Bedar.
“These farmers, through years of toil, have made this land suitable for any project or process. Their efforts, both in terms of manpower and machinery, have ensured that the land is fertile and productive,” he said.
While the people of Pattan have no objection to the administration’s decision to hand over the land to the Defence forces for their necessary project, they are demanding proper compensation based on the current market value of the land.
“These farmers deserve fair compensation for their contributions in making this land suitable for use,” the MLA Pattan emphasized.
National Conference pattan wing & MLA Javid Reyaz Bedar acknowledged and fully supports the farmers’ demands.
“I am urging the Chief Minister to take immediate action and address this issue with the concerned agencies. These poor farmers should be rightfully compensated for their hard work and contributions. Their demands are just, and it is our responsibility to ensure they are fulfilled.(CNS)
