Moderate to heavy rainfall predicted across Jammu Kashmir in coming days

The past 24 hours have seen significant rainfall in various parts of Jammu, with Udhampur receiving 47.9 mm, Katra 28.9 mm, and Jammu 14.4 mm.

This weather pattern is part of a broader forecast that indicates a shift in weather conditions across the region over the coming days.

For the remainder of June, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected across many areas of the Jammu Division, particularly during the late night and early morning hours, MeT has said.

The Kashmir Division, on the other hand, may see scattered rain and thundershowers in the afternoon and evening. These showers are likely to provide some respite from the heat, but residents should be prepared for sudden weather changes.

The intensity of rainfall is predicted to gradually increase from the 2nd day of July. TheĀ  MeT forecast suggests intermittent light to moderate rainfall across various locations, with the potential for heavy showers in some areas.

In light of these weather conditions, authorities have issued advisories for flash floods in certain hilly areas of the Jammu Division.

Additionally, there is a heightened risk of landslides and mudslides in vulnerable regions. Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
