In Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, a man reported being injured by stone pelting and stick attacks during a Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession, which led to brief tension in the city on Monday, according to police.
The man lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station, alleging injuries from the incident, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Anand.
“We are recording his statement,” the SP noted, without providing further details.
He assured that the situation was under control and advised against sharing unverified photos or videos on social media.
State BJP spokesperson Yashpal Singh Sisodia, a former MLA, indicated that the tension began when stones were thrown near Nehru Bus Stand during the procession, causing panic and leading many shopkeepers to close their businesses.
Sisodia called on authorities to ensure peace. Milad-un-Nabi commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
