
Anantnag police conducted extensive raids across the district as part of an ongoing investigation into networks linked to banned organizations.
The searches were carried out at multiple locations, including residences, shops, and other premises, targeting individuals suspected of involvement in unlawful activities.
Among the key locations searched were the residence of Ashaq Hussain Narchor in Mattan Chowk, Anantnag, and the house of Fayaz Ahmad Dass in Waghama, both associated with Tehreek-e-Huriyat.
Similar raids were conducted at the home of Mohd Rafiq Dar in Satkipora, Srigufwara, also linked to Tehreek-e-Huriyat.
In Bijbehara, the residence of Ghulam Nabi Sumji, associated with the Muslim Conference, was searched, while in Kadipora, Anantnag, police targeted the home of Manzoor Ahmad Misger from the same organization.
In Malaknag, Kadipora, the residences of Mukthar Ahmad Sofi and Mukthar Ahmad Waza, both affiliated with the Jammu Kashmir People’s League, were raided. Another search operation was conducted at the home of Mohd Shafi Khan in Zaldoora, Dooru, who has links to Hurriyat.
According to police, these operations are part of a larger effort to dismantle networks that could pose a threat to peace and security in the region.
Authorities emphasized their commitment to maintaining law and order and assured that strict action would continue against individuals and groups involved in unlawful activities.
The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help ensure stability in the district.
