A municipal councilor and one Policeman were killed in a militant attack on Monday afternoon in the Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that Municipal Councilor and his security guard were attacked by militants in Sopore near the Municipal council office resulting in their injuries after which they were later rushed to the hospital.
However, both of them succumbed to their injuries.
The Municipal Councilor was identified as Riyaz Ahmad and the killed security guard was identified as Shafqat Ahmed.
Meanwhile, the Government forces have sealed the area and launched a massive manhunt to nab the attackers.
