‘Murder shown as road accident’: wife, lover arrested for conspiring husband’s murder in Jammu Kashmir

In a disturbing turn of events, a woman, alongside her lover, stands accused of orchestrating the death of her 33-year-old husband, portraying the gruesome act as a road accident.

Both suspects have been apprehended and placed into custody following the heinous crime. The victim met a brutal end in the Seora area, falling under the jurisdiction of P Pounichak, Jammu, on the evening of April 6th, 2024.

On April 7th, 2024, around 03:00 hours, information reached P Pounichak through PCR Jammu that Naresh Chander had died in a road accident near Revenue Complex, Gole Gujral, and his body was at Gandhi Nagar Govt. Hospital, Jammu, where his wife was admitted with injuries.

An Investigating Officer was deputed to Gandhi Nagar hospital, who took custody of the body, recorded statements, and conducted a postmortem at GMC Jammu.

FIR No. 85/2024 U/S 279, 337, 304A PIC was registered at PS Domana, and investigation was entrusted to ASI Vinod Kumar of PP Pounichak. Suspicion arose regarding the wife’s statement, leading to a thorough investigation by P Pouniachak Police under the supervision of senior officers.

After detailed investigation, it was discovered that Shallu Devi, the wife, was having an illicit relationship with Bhanu Partap Singh, who was present at the time of Naresh Chander’s death.

Both were arrested, and during questioning, Bhanu Partap admitted to hatching a criminal conspiracy to kill Naresh Chander in an abandoned plot in Seora and then took him to Gandhi Nagar hospital, where they portrayed the case as a road accident.

Initially, Shallu Devi claimed her husband died in an accident near Revenue Complex and was shifted to Gandhi Nagar hospital, but later, Section 302 PIC was added.

Further investigation is ongoing.
